    Tips for room furniture orientation

TIP 1: WORK WITH ZONES FOR A COMFORTABLE LAYOUT

A room is much more than a place to sleep. You should also eat, work, relax and invite friends there. To ensure that all these activities run smoothly, it is best to divide the room into different zones. This makes your room clearer and increases the concentration at the workplace. When friends come over, it’s also more pleasant if you don’t have to be reminded of the mountains of schoolwork on your desk.

You can use curtains, paravans and a well-thought-out furniture arrangement to quickly organize your room. For example, you can place the desk freestanding to clearly define the learning space. A paravan against the back of the desk prevents distraction and can serve as a bulletin board. The wardrobe can also be a useful piece of furniture to create zones in your room.

TIP 2: MAKE ROOM IN YOUR ROOM

A cluttered room quickly becomes claustrophobic. You can prevent this by using light colors and transparent furniture. There are also some optical tricks that visually enlarge your room:

    MIRRORS

Mirrors are best placed where they get sunlight and reflect a lot. Walls that are perpendicular or opposite windows are ideal for this. This way you not only bring more light in, but the outside environment will also be brought in with the reflection. Work with large and seamless mirrors for optimal effect.

    CABINETS

Open cabinets and shelving look more spacious than furniture with doors, but require more maintenance and cleanliness. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets are less noticeable than regular cabinets because they seem to be part of the room.

    CURTAINS

If there are no curtains in your room yet, you can choose to place one large curtain over the entire wall with windows. This is often used in hotel rooms and will ensure that the room looks calming and spacious. If that is not possible, you can use floor-to-ceiling curtains on the width of the window. It takes a little more fabric, but the effect is certainly there!

TIP 3: CHOOSE SPACE-SAVING AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL FURNITURE FOR YOUR ROOM

Sometimes it’s better to buy functional furniture than to haul old and bulky furniture from home. For example, with a loft bed you can free up space for a desk and with a sofa bed you can invite friends to sleep. You can find cheap furniture for your room at various second-hand sites and local thrift shops. A lot of students put their stuff up for sale when they leave their student room.

TIP 4: BRING UNITY TO YOUR ROOM DECOR

Due to the combination of received and new furniture, your room will quickly become a mishmash of styles and colors. With a few liters of paint you can give all furniture the same look and your student room will look much more homogeneous and spacious. Accessories and accents can brighten things up.

You can also get services like 3d furniture visualization

TIP 5: GIVE YOUR ROOM A PERSONAL TOUCH!

After all these years living at home, you are finally in control! Do something exuberant and ensure that your room reflects your personality. Create a gigantic mural, collect piles of cushions for a huge seating area, hang your ceiling full of photos or come up with another crazy idea!
